Spectrum Reflections of Grade 8 Camp

Grade 8 camp wasn't what I imagined, it wasn't good, but utterly amazing. The camp leaders were inspiring, encouraging, humorous and helpful in ways one could not simply explain unless they were there to witness it. We asked questions, they answered every single one of them in the best way possible. For those of us who are in Spectrum and had a Spectrum grad for our camp leader, we asked questions about Spectrum-related topics, like ENEX, Strathcona, Florida, the noise level, etc. I found my camp leader inspiring. She was sarcastic with a touch of humour and told us about her Grade 8 camp, which we found helpful.

...She could barely contain her excitement, because in the next 24 hours, she would be sailing down a highway to Camp Stillwood, where there would be so many possibilities! Her family might have beeen sad, but they were glad to see that her face was aglow. Almost as if she had jumped in a pile of snow. Cheeks red, eyes shining, no more room for any whining. So at 7:45 she went to school. Acting ever so cool. They played games for a few hours until the buses pulled up. Quite hulking and yellow, made everyone shush up. Contrary to the last statement though, as soon as they stepped on, everyone was talking. Squealing and laughing, all the Grade 8s on the bus were practically squawking. That all changed when they arrived.

Soon all their heads bobbed up and down as they drove over bumps and cracks in the road. You could find a more agile toad. As they rushed to the dining hall to stuff their faces, it was just like going to the races. In the end they sang, danced, ran and jumped. It was so jun, they never wanted to stop.
