SLSS SPECTRUM

     All applicants will be expected to submit a completed Spectrum Program of Enriched Studies Application form. The candidates will also write a proficiency test in Math and English at Steveston-London Secondary. All candidates will be notified by e-mail of the results of their application. 

 

The first step is to fill out an application form to hand in to Steveston-London by the deadline. An application package for the 2020-2021 school year will be available on the SLSS website on Jan. 9, 2020. Once the applications are received, they will be reviewed by the Spectrum teachers. 

 

Every student who hands in a complete application must come to Steveston-London Secondary School on the date listed below to write the "Candidate Assessment of Skills".  Candidates will not be contacted about attending this assessment; all applicants must attend.  Testing takes two hours and assesses the candidate's abilities in math, reading and writing.  All candidates must also participate in a group interview with Spectrum teachers.  Students will be notified of their interview time by their school.

 

Spectrum teachers will then meet to look at all of the information that has been collected to make our final decisions. We may also make a waiting list of students who may be called in the summer and even up to September to fill an unexpected vacancy.

NOTE: Applications will only be considered from students who have already been accepted as new Steveston-London students.  If a student is from outside Steveston-London's catchment area, they must apply to the School District for special permission to attend Steveston-London.  That student's application to Spectrum will only be considered after their transfer application has been approved by the District.
